Who are we?

We're Ki & Tye aka your favorite cousins. We are native NYers seeking to build community within local spaces prioritizing local Black-owned businesses. Far too often, the best businesses go unnoticed and close due to low sales and in cities where gentrification is violent, we are even more steadfast in supporting local first and foremost. While we prioritize Black-owned businesses, we also seek out and uplift local businesses that reach back to the community they serve.

When we initially started our blog, it was as our own diary to keep track of the businesses we liked and why. It’s easy to forget the local mom & pop shop that you randomly stumbled upon because you got lost. We needed to document those places and now we’re sharing them with you. Whether it’s food, lifestyle brands, or services and goods, if it’s a local business, we want to know about it and we want you to know about it.

We are Yelp Elite members and Google Local Guides hoping our reviews help locals as well as tourists choose local and Black-owned businesses.
